This is a very small restaurant in Chinatown, Newcastle.
There are six tables and more sitting by the window.
The service is very good and the food is very yummy.
We decided to enter the restaurant as the kitchen, which you can see from the street, it is very clean and tidy.
We ordered fried rice, fried noodles, wanton soup and duck with pineapple and ginger with chinese tea.
We enjoyed it very much so the next day we decided to go back again and we ordered prawn crackers, half duck, special noodles and chinese tea.
Everything was very yummy again and we left feeling very good.
We really recommended this restaurant as they work as a team and they are very professional.- Service

Visited for Takeaway on a Saturday early afternoon, just as a football match got out. Very busy area, but despite this, served our group of 10 very quickly. All food prepared fresh. Now takes card payments too, was previously cash only. Definitely worth a visit. Food was perfect!

The food was absolutely gorgeous. The portion size is generous. Very good prices. And if you get here before 5pm, you can enjoy the special meal deal. ☺️ (Only downside is they accept only cash.)

From my past couple of visits, Chinatown Express keeps on being an unassuming, no-frills place to have a good chinese. A great 8£ lunch deal, and a menu that both has the more "westernised" Chinese food and the more authentic dishes according to chinese friends (it's a very extensive menu). The duck is quite good apparently, and the portions sizes are perfect really (i.e enormous).
Pictures are for the chicken with mushrooms, and the salt and pepper beef dishes (and of the great view from the window seats).
No alcohol is served however as they do not have a license, which is understandable considering the size of the place, but just as reference.Best roasted belly pork (a.k.a. crispy pork) in town!! Come early if you wanna try this as they often run out later in the day🥲 Only accept cash!
Excellent Spot. The tables are a little 'canteen' like but Service and Food is excellent and not really much more than takeaway prices !

You'll always find many members of Newcastle Chinese community dining here and the kitchen is in full view.
The food is of a very high standard and the staff are lovely. I wanted to try something from the authentic Chinese menu and the staff were very helpful.
It's plain formica tables and not overly fussy with decorations but the prices reflect this and the food is excellent. Its also very clean.
It's a highly recommended restaurant.Super friendly people, nice informal place, awesome food. A bit pricey but its a fast food that really worth the visit. Duck is something! 😍

Got a ‘three combination roast’ for takeaway. You can choose which combination you want. Mine included roast duck, roast belly pork and honey barbecue roast pork. It was good. The roast belly pork was crispy on the outside. Good flavor. I would say they probably gave me 6 pieces each.
